Diversity, Equity and Inclusion

We firmly believe that travel enriches lives. When you step beyond your daily routine, you encounter new perspectives and values that would otherwise remain hidden. By stepping out of your comfort zone and embracing different viewpoints, you open yourself up to transformative experiences. Even within your own country, traveling to unfamiliar places provides opportunities to discover new cultures and insights. This holds true even for domestic travel within Japan.

Through our business, we aim to create innovative travel experiences that foster connections with diverse people, cultures, and values. To achieve this, we’ve made the DEI Promise a core element of our company. This commitment shapes our business, product design, and organizational development. Since our founding, we've upheld this Promise on Diversity as a key principle.

What sets this apart is that it’s not just a "policy"—it's a "promise." We believe it’s more powerful when we make this commitment to each other, backed by a shared resolve. It’s a vital pledge that we are committed to maintaining in every circumstance.

DEI stands for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. It’s about creating an environment that maximizes individual potential and enhances business value by fostering diversity, ensuring fairness, and promoting inclusivity among all employees.

We define these essential principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion as follows.

1. Diversity

It starts with recognizing that everyone has strengths and weaknesses, as well as traits that can make them part of a minority or majority. These include gender, age, background, abilities, preferences, and whether or not they have any disabilities. These layers of identity overlap to form each person’s unique self. In truth, there are no inherent strengths or weaknesses in these traits—they are simply individual characteristics. However, it’s also a reality that some people face challenges because of them. Understanding that we live among such diverse values is at the heart of Diversity.

2. Equity

Equity is about ensuring that everyone has a fair chance to seize opportunities, with the right support based on their individual needs. For example, we must acknowledge and address the reality that some people are held back due to their gender or race. It is never acceptable to exclude anyone or deny them opportunities simply because they are "different," without fairly evaluating their abilities and skills. We believe that by promoting fairness and justice within our organization, and creating an environment where everyone can maximize their diverse talents, we can build a unique company that produces even better products.

3. Inclusion

Since birth, people have lived in environments rich in diversity, whether they realize it or not. However, throughout history, society has drawn various boundaries to emphasize differences. While some of these distinctions may be necessary, many are clearly outdated in today’s world. The more pressing issue is that many of these boundaries were drawn unconsciously. This unconscious bias is the root of many problems. We need to become more aware of these biases and work to dismantle unnecessary boundaries. Once we recognize the existence of these divisions, it becomes crucial to respect and embrace the values beyond them. This is the essence of Inclusion and the key to achieving true acceptance.

To summarize, our core philosophy is to challenge and eliminate the belief that “because A, B is not possible.”

For example:

  • You can't get married if you're the same sex.
  • You can't be an executive if you're a woman.
  • You can't travel if you're disabled.
  • You can't work if you're a foreigner.
  • You can't change careers if you're too old.
  • You can't take on challenges if you're young.

Our goal is to promote a more inclusive and flexible mindset by addressing stereotypes like "you can't change jobs because you're too old" or "you can't take on new challenges because you're young." Although we are still refining this approach, it guides all our projects, decisions, benefits, and systems. Ignoring this principle would risk building our organization at the expense of others.

To build a flexible and accountable team, all our members are dedicated to upholding these promises in their management strategies, organizational practices, and service operations, while consistently focusing on the principles of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) throughout the organization.

We look forward to your continued support of our services and organization in the future.
